Question So I was wondering... - October 22nd 2009, 12:40 AM

I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis [MS for short]. Its a disease that attacks the spinal and nervous system.

At the moment, I have 7 lesions on my spinal cord, and 11 in my brain (which from what my neuro team says, is bad for somebody my age).

I guess I was just wondering if you know anybody with the same disease. If yes, how old is this person, and how old were they when they were diagnosed.

I was 19.
I am now 20.

Just curious I guess... bc most people I have been talking to have said that their aunts/ elder people that they know had just been diagnosed. This makes me wonder about the injections that I have to take for the rest of my life... you know? Like most of the people are already 20yrs older than me when they begin taking them.

Idk.
Any comments will help.

I know two people with this disese. One is a teacher at my school, im taking a guess that she's probaly around 50-60 years old.
Another is an ex-student who got it when she was 15, now 16, but had to home study because of it.

I hope you're okay!
Take care x

i know someone who is 17 and was diagnosed with it last year. to be honest i'm not entirely sure how it's effected her because i'm not very good friends with her, just know about it because she was in my tutor group at school.

My sister was 18 when she was diagnosed. She is now 23. So far she has only had one relapse; she's a fighter.

My friend's Mother has MS. She's about 45-50 years old..I understand having MS must be hard for you, but I think if you start taking them earier like your age they do have more of an effect.
