Dealing with Epilepsy -

My name is Christy Douglas and I was diagnosed with Epilepsy at 15. I am now 19. I have been through a lot during the years with medication changes, blood tests, brain scans, bullying in school and trying to find myself. I have written this story several times and have even given lectures on teens with disabilities. I also have severe depression and anxiety. I worked most of my problems out by seeking help from a therapist or mental health care professionals. At first I was a very angry girl who didn't understand why this was happening to her. I felt like I was losing myself and to tell you the truth I never thought I'd get the old me back but I'm starting to see her again for the first time in awhile. If you have any questions feel free to ask and above all when you are at your most insecure remember to own your disability because it doesn't own you.
