Fibromyalgia - December 8th 2011, 05:48 PM

Does anyone else here have fibromyalgia? If so, how do you deal with the pain without meds?

My former best friend had it, and she took different types of electrolyte and vitamin supplements that she swore by. She drank Smart Water, claiming it helped because of the electrolytes as well, and although it may have been more like a placebo effect, it's worth a try. I would also recommend you dress comfortably, no high heals or things that can further mess up any damage, and would also recommend you eat a very balanced diet.

Re: Fibromyalgia - December 21st 2011, 06:25 AM

I also have fibromyaliga. And although I used drug therapy, I also use stretching and hot/cold packs. Stretching muscles and joints, even if it hurts, feels so much better later. Execrise is good for your body and it does help. If you know the joints and muscles of your body well, you might be able to stretch them just right so that they lose the pain completely for a while. Icing what hurts or using a hot pad can also help. Bracing joints that are painful can lessen the pain, because it doesn't allow the joint to move around so much.I hope this helps a bit, sorry for such a late reply.

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."
