Hey there,

First, are you treating the skin? If itís dry and itchy, try using moisturiser to soothe the skin. Perhaps you could go to the doctors to see what they recommend?

If you scratch when you are nervous, try using your hands to do something else. Perhaps you could crumple up some paper, or use a stress ball. When you notice that you are doing it, try to distract yourself.

If you are doing it in your sleep, could you buy some cotton mittens/gloves? You can get them from a pharmacy or drug store. Wearing them in your sleep, wonít stop you from scratching, but will be soft on your skin so you donít make it worse.

Lastly, since you are doing it when you are stressed and asleep, is there something thatís bothering you? If there is, you could talk to someone about it, like family, friends or a teacher. Since itís becoming a bit of a problem, you could talk to your doctor about it or get some professional help, like a counsellor, if you are feeling anxious a lot or if something is bothering you.

Take care

I agree, try to know the cause and the triggers of your behavior first then seek help from professionals.
