without suicidal meaning, it's called "cutting" a type of self-injury. Self injury is very addictive.

I'm a (recovering) self injurer. It's very addicting. Try checking out the Self Harm forums for tips and tricks to stopping.

Hey Ashley,
If you feel like you can't stop, that is definately a self harm addiction. If alternatives aren't working for you, don't give up hope! Talk to someone such as a close friend, family member, or even try a social worker. Talking to someone for professional help is a huge step, but in the end it's worth it. Just think, you are only digging yourself a deeper hole you will eventually have to climb out of. Don't make it any harder for yourself than it already is. Good luck and let me know how it's going.
~Alessa

Whatever it is, chances are I've been there.
If I can make it out, you can too.

It really doesn't matter how deep you do it. It's still self harm/cutting. I'd go to the self harm alternatives page and try the rubber band thing. It works for alot of people. If it doesn't, do a sport or something you like to do (besides "slitting" yourself).
