So this isn't like a big problem, but I seem to have three addiction-type-things.
One is cleaning under my fingernails- with toothpicks, staples, pencil lead, whatever I can find. It's kind of annoying, but I love doing it and can't seem to stop. Another one is scratching at my head- not to hurt myself, but to watch the dandruff/picked off skin fall down. I dunno why, it amuses me. But sometimes it scabs over... but I can't stop! And the third I can't remember for the life of me. Hopefully I will figure it out and get help soon. I know that this was the only one that could be a problem... but I can't remember it. I'll post it as a reply if/when I figure it out. For the other ones, though... help!!!! :P Hey, I'm Jonah. I like Degrassi, writing, and hanging out with friends. I'm sixteen years old and I am FTM transgender, although these days I identify more as just plain male.
I just wrote up a huge thing about the significance of my username, just to find out it was too long. So if you're curious about it, feel free to ask me. I used to go on here a lot, but lately I don't go on very much at all. Either way, you should still leave me a message some time, I'm very friendly ![]() |

I used to clean under my fingernails a lot to... but I think it was more of a habit.
I think a lot of people like to pick at things (dont know why) but I think it depends on the extent that you do it and how bad it gets and maybe why you do it thats the problem

I do the picking-at-the-scalp thing too...I do it all the time when I'm sitting in school or something with nothing to do with my hands. I don't really see a problem with it unless it's getting to the point where you're bleeding or something

There's nothing wrong with cleaning under your finger nails, just make sure your nails are long enough and you aren't hurting yourself. Everyone has little habits like this, it's natural these days -apes like to use their hands, right?
![]() If you don't want to be able to scratch your head as much, washing your hair more often will prevent you from doing it as often, it will also help keep your scalp somewhat moisturized, which will prevent the scabbing over. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and wiser, that in itself, is worth the fight. The best way to predict the future is to create it - Peter F.
