Is sucking thumb bad -

People mention that sucking your thumb is bad because you end up with buck teeth. also yout thumb shrinks or get's bigger. I suck my thumb for comfort and I also stroke my nose I'm 13 and It can be embarrasing at times but I don't think I grow at of it

The main problem is if you do it quite regularly it can cause a change in the occlusion of your teeth and in extreme cases can leave you with proclined upper teeth and retroclined lower teeth as shown in pics your-doctor.com/patient_info/dental_info/novascotia_picts/mallo.jpg aso.org.au/Images/Orthodontics/Orthodontic%20Problems/thumb_sucking.gif |

Yeah. It can definitely affect your teeth. I had a dummy for many years, and it just added to the already unalined jaw I have. So see if you can get yourself to cut it out. Or your dentist will be cursing you in a few years.
