Obsessive snacker... - July 9th 2010, 05:09 PM

I've gone up 2 dress sizes in 3 years, and have finally decided to try to do something about it. Still living at home, it's a little difficult to diet... I recorded my food for a week and have found my downfall is snacks - chocolate, biscuits, crisps etc. This is really the only big change in my lifestyle - in fact I probably do more walking now than I did - and I think if I find a healthy snack (hopefully) it can go some way towards getting back to my old size. Is there any way I can satisfy my sweet tooth and have convenience without the calories?

Hey (:

Try switching out your sugary snacks for fruit. And to help keep you more full, eat something like oatmeal or peanut butter on bread.

Fruit would be a good idea as it is sweet but since it's also acidic (especially citrus fruit) you may need to brush your teeth more often. Fruit is also cheaper if you go at the end of the day as it's perishable and needs to go

It would also help if you could have something like porridge for breakfast

First of all, don't buy any white bread. ALWAYS go for whole wheat or something to that extent. Buy everything fat-free, or low-calorie. Eggs can be a great way to start the morning. Grilled chicken salad is a nice lunch too.

For snacks:
-Yogurt covered nuts
-Apple with a little peanut butter
-Chocolate covered almonds (for a big treat)

Don't snack past 7pm anyways, that increases weight gain.

Hopefully this helped a little

Try eating snacks that are either fruit or you can get those things that are 100 calorie packs.. Also, try to remember you do not have to cut sugary snacks COMPLETELY out of your diet.

fruits are a natraul source of sugar but you still have to watch nutrition facts....and deit sugar is good to me but not always so try deit drinks and stuff like that.....better advice would be smaller portions more frequently ....(ex) 6 small meals a day oppossed to 3 big meals aday.....eat smaller frequently it will jump start your motaoblism

If we ass humans spend more time trying to forgive than being angry the world would have no wars or conflict and there would be peace.....being angry does not change the problem...........

yoghurt covered anything is always lush. With the chocolate try buying dark chocolate. Just a square satisfies the chocolate cravings.

Try replacing crisps with nuts, seeds (toasted seseme seeds, mmmmm!) and vegetable crisps, along with veggie sticks with dip.
