How do you know if you are addicted to the computer? I think I might be, and I have been denying it for a long time and trying to fix other parts of my life, but if it is partly the internet, it will help me to know and then I can fix it...
Thanks Love everyone

Schedule yourself. Tell yourself, I'm only going to be on the computer for an hour or two, then I'm going to go out and exercise, or go to the library, or go do homework. It is all up to you. You have to set limits for yourself. Write all the things that you plan to do for the day in a book. If you plan yourself to do other things, you will find yourself spending less and less time in front of the computer. I can relate to how you feel. The computer is very time consuming. Minutes can turn into hours when you are on it. You just have to set a limit for yourself, and find other things that you enjoy doing.
Knowledge is half the battle. ![]() |

I agree with what Jesse said. You need to schedule yourself and make sure you are spending other time going outside, reading, going to the library or hanging out with friends. It can be easy to get addicted to the computer. But, I think you could just love spending time on the computer. A definition for being addicted to something is this, "the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming" So I guess you have to ask yourself is being on the computer has become a common habit and has interfered with your other life such as hanging out with friends, doing school work... etc. I hope I answered your question, feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions or just want to talk.
Please feel free to PM me. I love to help others, and can be an ear to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or a face to scream at. <3

I know that having a favorite site that you always want to go on is hard, but you need the sunlight and the fresh air. If you are inside a lot, well, go out for a few moments. Sit with your family and have a discussion. Don't let your life go to waste on a computer. I know that this happened to me and now I am being kicked out of my college because of this. Don't waste you life. If you need to do homework, give yourself about an hour to do some then go to the computer for 10 minutes or 20 minutes, then go back to work. Taking breaks from the computer is good. Don't procrastinate. It only causes problems.
