An update-details inside -
September 24th 2011, 03:36 PM
so a couple weeks back I had posted this thread about my strange addiction http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f124-...bably-unusual/
just to update everyone who may have given me advice, I'm doing well. The binky stays under my pillow, but it hasn't really gone in my mouth for a couple weeks it's becoming more of an occasional thing than an absolute necessity, hopefully it's completely gone by the time I go to collage next fall thanks to those who helped me

It's okay to mess up sometimes, just keep going. You're strong.

Yeah, it's okay! It's not a dangerous habit, just something to quit over time, and you have the time.
![]() And congrats on the two months! Be proud of those, not the slip up.

Hey; excellent job! You should be really, really proud. Slip ups happen; they do with any circumstance, but what matters is that you woke up the next day with new determination, hm? (:

Everyone confuses these things with love, but in reality, love is the only thing in this world that covers up all the pain and makes us feel wonderful again." Don't put yourself down. We all make mistakes. Stay determined, have faith in yourself, and above all, don't give up hope. Stay strong.

Well done for getting this far, you're doing really well.
Have you got anything else you can distract yourself with when you feel like you're going to slip up? For example something from the self harm alternatives list might work for this. http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f12-s...ves-self-harm/ Or try to do something with your hands, like learn knitting or make something creative, to stop you from picking it up? Good luck and well done. x |
