Is it possible to be addicted to a person? - November 8th 2011, 12:30 AM

I've always wondered if it's possible to get addicted to people. I've always avoided drugs cigarettes and gambling because I know in myself I have a very addictive personality and I don't believe I would ever be able to stop an addiction like that. But I've been thinking a lot about my friendships recently and I always seem to have a friend , which changes over time as people obviously get tired, who I'm not so much obsessed with but one that's always in the forefront of my mind, that I go to for whats almost a high, who I do anything to impress and do anything for. I just wondered what people thought

Is the person of the opposite gender? You might have one of those huge crushes. We've all had that one person we've always been attracted to and I guess, feel like you're on a 'high' whenever you get that chance to talk to them.

I would say yes and now that you are aware you can consider making different choices with how you go about things and with who.

Like you I too notice things like this and know I could get adicted to things very easy and so stay away from them. Plus seeing it in my own parents as they still to this day have very strong adictions .. and yes even ones for each other I feel and not in a good way always.

Ask me how you too can become a certified life coach as a teen or teen like person helping other teens through their goals and life, highly rewarding as you know.

I would say that you can definitely get obsessed with a person. It's never that good of an idea because it can lead to idolising the person, or arguments, people getting hurt or even stalking them. In the end, anything that obsessive isn't going to be a great thing.

If you are finding that you're getting obsessive over someone, try to distance yourself from them until the feeling wears off.

I personally think I'm addicted to this one guy. It's like I'm on a high whilst I'm with him, and then as soon as I know I won't see him for a few days, I die a bit inside and end up really low for days.

I'm just obssessive though. It's awful.
