So my issue revolves around using activities that give me a rush to de-stress. I used to have a problem with drugs, but now that i am sober i seem to have more of an adrenaline problem. a while ago this lead me to the idea of walking around an apartment complex late at night without any sort of pants on. my genitalia were never exposed, just my bare legs and butt. I don't really know what that means about me if anything at all. i guess i'm just looking for opinions or advice. i'm not comfortable talking to anyone i know about this, i have only been open with my girlfriend about it and it has obviously caused huge problems between us, which has only been further stress.

this is probably the way you have decided to cope with stress because with aderienaline you tend to forget about all your problems and focus all your energy on what you are doing at that time. I would suggest maybe finding a new way to cope with stress if this is causing problems with your girlfriend. Try writing or reading or an activity that maybe you and your gf could do together.

Simple answer, It is not right to be thinking that way and you need to get into therapy.

The way I took this, it seems like you're searching for an alternative to your old ways for coping with stress. However, public nudity is not the best option. It's illegal and causing problems with people you care about. It just isn't a good idea. That being said, try to find other, healthy ways to cope with your stress. Write about it in a journal, talk to someone about what is bothering you, exercise, etc. There are so many ways to cope without stress without harming your body (drinking) or running the risk of being arrested (public nudity). Do you realize how serious of an issue this is? If caught, youd likely be placed on the sex offender registry. Serious. I know you already know its illegal, and illegal is one thing, sex offender registry is another. Sex offender registry is a whole new ballgame than just simply illegal. It would cause serious troubles in life. yes, this is a sex crime. though not nearly as serious as rape ,etc. most people think child molester when they hear sex offender and they will discriminate against you as such.

It will cause you to be ostracised like never before (cant live in specific areas, some appartments wont want you, forget about getting a job , cant be near kids (maybe even your own). Ostracism (low social status) plus low economic status plus not being able to be around kids (likely even your own) and the high stigma of associating with a sex offender will make it impossible to get a girl. Regardless of what the sex crime is, the word sex offender will make people run away from you.

Also, where you live,etc. will be posted online with a photograph (yes people look at this database, i look at it just out of curiosity). This would lead neighbors to want you out of their neighborhood,etc.

This is entirely different than public exposure due to drunkenness (in which case the prosecutors often give mercy and not charge you with a sex crime). the fact that you say you do it for excitement will not win any sympathy from the police. Join a nudist colony if you have to (not that i recommmend that but whatever).

If this is a compulsion and not just something you do once or twice, i seriously recommend a therapist. and not just one of those general issues therapists or school counselors, i mean specialists in this type of thing. This has serious consequences for your future. Even when you get off the sex offender registry , youd have a felony on your record for life; making it really hard to get a job.

This is a very dangerous(and completely stupid ) way to get an adrenaline rush. Even using the hardest drugs (not that im encouraging it) would be less risky for your future.

That being said, i do not think this is related to the drug thing. This is a very unusual way of getting an adrenaline rush for a sober person.

The fact that you do this at an appartment makes it even worse. There are many people who would complain if they saw it, most appartments have surveilance cams, and many people who could potentially witness it. youd get caught. All it would take is for one woman (espescially with a child) to get offended by it, and call the appartment workers/security/cops and your life would be ruined ( and not in the "he got a drug conviction " type way) but in the ("omg, he is a pervert sex offender, stay away " type way).

Even if you werent required to register. youd have a felony on your record. and the felony would be for something like felony indecent exposure.

You dont just "get arrested and thats it" for felonies. you get a record , possible prison, etc. your whole life would change for the worst. and if you were required to register as a sex offender, your life would get ruined.

This would probably be seen as different than streaking. Theres a good chance that the cops would see this as being for sexual excitement (streakers dont usually just walk around sober at nighttime with there ass exposed on a quiet appartment by themselves just for "excitement and adrenaline rush". This fact would make the cops see you as a possible sexual deviant and this would influence the severity of charges brought on you.

also, if a minor is present and sees you do this, you may be given a harsher charge.

All of this depends on the state you live in, each state has different laws on most things. But in any case, being brought to court over this would cause unwanted rumors and gossip about you. Afterall, you said in your post that you dont feel comfortable with other people knowing about this. Imagine the embarrassment.

This wont be seen as being like mooning or streaking(done for laughs, disruption, etc) . What you are doing is very odd and perverted. you did this completely by yourself, in a secretive way, and claim to find excitement out of it. very odd.

im not trying to offend you. but i am saying what you are doing is pretty creepy and stupid. If you want to do something for an adrenaline rush, pick something that isnt seen as "pervert status". Again this will not be seen by most people as streaking (where its usually for shock value and friends often help come up with the idea). Some random SOBER guy who repeatedly walks around an appartment at night nearly naked , gets a thrill out of it, and does it on his own and wants to keep it secret , just sounds creepy to most people. even if you arent doing it for sexual purposes, it will be perceived that way, and you dont want to be perceived as a pervert.

Its not cool. You are embarrassing your girlfriend btw. Who wants to be known as the girl who dates the guy who walks out of his appartment , exposes his butt and walks around aimlessly for no reason.
