Hi Everyone!!
 I hope you're having a groovy day!! lol  ARE YOU A TEXT MANIAC?! I appreciate why texting is so appealing. It's like being with people - but not really being with them. The whole 'safe distance' thing can make us feel - well - SAFE! [In all sorts of different ways] Much like the Internet - but in a far more frenzied way. The trouble is - REAL LIFE is going on at the SAME TIME and many of you are MISSING IT! When was the last time you took note of the pattern rain makes on a window? Or how leaves dance on the trees when a bus drives by? Or was aware of the exchange of smiles from one friend to another. [On the faces of people you don't even know] TEXTING is FINE - for a limited TIME - every now and then!! But don't allow yourself to become so dependent upon it that you miss out on what's going on in the world around YOU! Just a thought! GREAT BIG HUG Craig!!

Hahah, I was just talking about this with one of my other friends.
I text a lot, but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. Honestly, texting is my way to get away from the stress that comes from the outside world. I still take the time to go out and appreciate it, though.

I have a 3 year old basic flip phone and I rarely use it. The only thing I do with it is call people because I don't have a home phone and to text my fiance when he is not around
 and my best friend who lives a ways away. I do like to always have it with me though.

Blah. I barely text. I have a bad habit of leaving my phone off for days at a time.

I dont text as much as I use to! When I first got my phone around freshman year, I texted from the time I woke up, until the time I went to bed.

I don't text I actually hate it I prefer to talk in person the most texts I've used a month are probably 2, one to my sister elling her not to text me but to call me anyone to a Super Bowl thing to win a jersey.

I have a phone and used to be a text-aholic until i lost my phone. When I got a new one I couldn't be bothered texting anymore as I saw the outside world! :O Now I only text either my landlord or my family since I live on my own and on the occasion my best friend. I'm online about an hour everyday and the rest of it, I'm either at home or going out to see the world!

My phone is a bit rubbish so texting and calling are about all I can do on it, and even that sucks sometimes! I only really use my phone when I text a few people, and more often than not I'll text people when I need something to look at to avoid eye contact with people I don't know or like.
I wouldn't say I'm dependent, I just like having the option to block our other things.

I used to text a LOT, and I don't know what happened, but I only text someone if they text me first haha

I actually almost never text, I just give them a call. I guess I'm weird like that.

I tend to only text when people text me- That's not a lot of the time!
Sometimes text conversations can last a very long time though, so I could text for days. It depends I guess.

I never used to text a-lot due to being on a pay as you go network rather than a contract sine switching to contract my phone is quite often glued to my hand whether I'm texting, going on-line on my phone, playing a game or calling someone, my phone is pretty much glued to my hand. Yet somehow I still never use all of my 250 text allowance up, so whether or not I am addicted to my phone I'm not sure. It might because my phone is only pretty much glued to my hand when I'm out and and about, when I'm at home it's not. I'll still text at home but not as much.

I definitely am with my partner, we tend to spend a lot of time apart due to other commitments and it's really quite rare the both of us are available at the same time for a phone call so we text as a substitute.
If I text anyone else it tends to just be a question about something 'cause I can't be bothered to call them. |

Nope, I only text a few of my friends. My phone is too old to text, some of the letters don't work and I type too fast for it so it skips letters.

I barely text.
For one, I am really slow at texting. And second, I don't have anyone really to text. I think sense I got my phone in December I've texted like fifty times. I'd rather use the internet or actually talk to the person or call them. "When my life is like a storm

I much prefer to text rather than phone people... i only text a select few people regularly. My housemate makes me laugh at his pathetic attempt to prove he is very sociable by sitting in a corner on his phone all the time.

I don't text as much as I use to, a majority of my texts go to two people, and then a few to family members to tell them what time I need picked up from wherever. We're not allowed to use our phones at choir, or during theatre rehearsal, so that sort of forces us to talk to people. But we really only stay in our "neighborhood", as my choir director would put it. I mostly talk to the altos, because I'm an alto and I sit among them. In theatre I don't talk to the kids who have the leads, but the chorus actors like me.
