Smile Make a Difference - May 25th 2012, 12:31 PM

I've always wanted to make a change in the world. I've already decided that when I'm old enough I'm going to donate blood. But I want to do more than that. I want to donate every cent I have to the needier people and animals. I'm sponsering a moon bear, I'm pretty proud of that. I just want to make something better... It breaks my heart of all the strange diseases and mental illnesses there are out there... I'd give anything if they'd all just come to ME, then everyone else would be healthy and happy. I wish that if anyone was to be depressed it should be me. What can I do? It seems no one trusts me because I'm 12 (on June 1st anyways, it's close enough lol).
To end the wars, to end bullying, to end misery and suffering.

Such a thing is near impossible, but I try to do what I CAN to make a difference, is this a good thing?

You seem very mature for your age - and when maturity comes into play; then your age should not matter. Although no matter how much we both agree that age doesn't matter, unfortunately many people think it does, and thats why they wont allow kids to be involved in things like you want to.

But heres a few ideas:
-Get more active at TeenHelp. Help those who do struggle with certain things (Like relationships, friendships, disorders, depression, etc). Your support will help - even if at times you think it wont.
-Write articles about a subject, and try to get someone to post/publish them. If you feel deeply about educating people on things, or making disorders/decease's more known, then writing articles would be a great idea. You could write them for TeenHelp, or post them to your blogs section. Or you can get your school to publish them in a newsletter. Or if it is Superior, you may even be able to get it published in a local newspaper.

I can picture you working in the medical field when you get older (as a doctor, nurse, paramedic, EMT, etc). Depending on your location, I would look up information about Cadet Programs, or Jr Programs you can get involved in. In the U.S. we have Firefighter Cadet programs, Police Cadet Programs, EMS Cadet programs that you are able to be apart of (some start at age 13+ while others are 15+). What these programs do is introduce you to that certain field (which in this case you should pick the EMS Cadet program), and they will show you how to do CPR, run a AED machine, hook up medicine(s), give treatment to wounds, and a whole list of things! Its a good experience, but its just an idea that I wanted to throw out there.

The more experience you have with helping people, than in the long run you will be able to make a even bigger difference that you hope to make.

Best wishes,
Chris

I hope you know that you deserve it all. The best, the most honest, the most beautiful purest love in the world. Not only to be loved by others, but to be loved by yourself. To look in the mirror and think "Yes, I'm exactly who I want to be". To speak up and be proud of yourself. To be brave and open. You deserve the nicest and most caring people to walk into your life. You deserve it all, you know. The whole world...
