Smile Learner's Permit? - September 12th 2012, 11:19 PM

I turned 14 last Saturday, and that made me legally able to get my learner's permit now
I just printed out the Driver's Manual and I'm highlighting and studying really hard. My mom is taking me to get tested next week. I'm really excited.
But I'm also nervous. Like, what if I fail? I can try again the next day/ But if you've failed 4 times, you can't retest for another 6 months

For those who have taken their driving tests and passed, how easy was it for you? I mean, I know everyone is different, but it would help me a little bit since I don't know what to expect.

I skimmed the book while sitting in the DMV, only missed two out of thirty

It's easy, just a common sense test!

I passed my learners permit test on the first try, but I studied and studied that book But like you said, everyone IS different and each test is different as well. Just study, be calm and collected and you'll do just fine (:

Re: Learner's Permit? - September 12th 2012, 11:59 PM

I found it pretty easy, got one wrong out of the whole thing.
But I live in a different country and our licence system is quite a bit different than the states so yours might be harder
Every question was just common sense though.
"If a kid is standing at the corner of an intersection with his arm stretched out at 90 degrees from his body what is he trying to do? A. he's trying to cross and you should stop. B. He's trying to cross and you shouldn't stop. C. He has special needs D. He requires your help."
That was basically exactly how one of my questions went

I found it pretty easy as well, and I was scared as all heck Try not to worry so much, read through it, and I'm sure you'll do fine.

I also recommend try going online and taking practice tests? I took a few, and it really helped me a lot and it made me feel less nervous Make sure you look it up according to state, I think they're different

I took a practice test last night and got 100% :3
I'm really going to study hard this weekend. But thank you, guys. It seems a little bit easier than I thought.

You are soooo lucky! I still have to wait a year to get my license :O it's annoying as hell.
But, I already know how to drive a car :P thanks to one of my foster parents dads

Also, my mums boyfriend is making me do the practice tests :P It's quite easy!
I'd like to know of a place where it is hard though.

Haha,
Jay.

Re: Learner's Permit? - September 14th 2012, 05:13 AM

I've found the test to be extremely easy, and out of my class off 35 kids, no one failed or had to retake it. Please keep in mind that all Drivers Ed classes are different based on who teaches it, what state your in, etc. All states have different (but usually similar) types of tests. Alittle studying and reading will/should be sufficient enough to pass.

Goodluck!

Yes, they do. But there are 3 different permits to get until you can actually fully drive. And there is a lot of restrictions on top of it.

It was really easy. I read through the Manuel but didn't even really highlight anything. I picked the book up one day and like tested a few days later. I missed 2 out of all the questions and passed. Like it wasn't that big of a deal at all, I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck!
