My Dream is my Goal

When i was 2 years old my dad brought home a movie called Free Willy, it's a movie about an orphaned boy named Jesse who is given a chance to fix his life when he's sentenced to community service at a local Whale aquarium. There he met an orca whale named Willy. Ever since the day i watched that movie i've been obsessed with becoming a marine biologist. Even now, 15 years later, my dream is to become a marine biologist. The plan is pretty much to be a professor in a university and work as a field researcher as i travel the world, think of Indiana Jones as an example.

But my goals don't end there. I have a passion for Alpine Skiing, and it has been another one of my most treasured dreams since i was 4, that i would someday compete in the Olympics to win a gold, and support my country.

I've been told by my mother that this is too much to expect in my lifetime. My father says that it's a fantastic plan, and he encourages me to go for it.

Hi Jessica!

Your goals and dreams that you currently have are nothing but amazing. I want you to know that if you can dream it, you can achieve it. People WILL doubt you, they will sometimes even try to get in your way of achieving or reaching these dreams/goals, but you have to stay on track and do what you have to do to get where you want to be.

In the end, the only one who can stop you from reaching your dreams/goals is yourself. Keep pushing for what you want no matter the cost. The end result will be amazing.

Best wishes,
Chris

I think that you should at least try it out! I think the marine biologist one is definitely feasible, and the skiing one can be with dedication. You do have to stay focused and work hard for both of these things, but no matter what happens, at least if you go for it, you can say you tried rather than possibly miss an opportunity.

I admire your passions for your dreams. You can reach them, so keep going for them. Listen to your dad and the encouragement. :)
