New Years Resolutions. - December 31st 2014, 02:35 AM

So tonight is NYE here in Australia and New Zealand and the surrounding areas, so I must launch the obligatory Resolutions thread LOL. Many don't believe in resolutions for big events, especially New Years, but I think it is always nice to give yourself a little reminder.

Do you believe in Resolutions and what are your's. I certainly do, and these are mine:

-Get closer to my religion.
-Loose weight.
-Acquire cash.
-Destroy my next session of University.
-Write a novel.
-Attend a live sports match some time soon.
-Flip through more literature.
-Fly a plane in a simulator.
-Love the little things.
-Enlarge my Badassery Quotient.

BAM! Glad Waffle .

I always say this every New Year but the thing is, a lot of people here are here for help, because they don't see the magic in life. Life has treated them such that all the magic the luckiest of us see is completely drained and their world becomes gray.

I believe, that each and every one of you should be congratulated for surviving the year, and appreciating the world around you. Some people here have had problems with suicide, but something about this world and this life has kept you here no matter how many times you have contemplated some darker thoughts over these past twelve months. Congratulations on recognising whatever it is you found to help you survive.

On the stroke of midnight tonight and for every minute hereafter, the greater gift of life is life itself. The magic of the world that keeps so many alive is the world itself. The stars and the birds and the hard rock singers comprise the greatest of miracles, the greatest of medications for whatever you need help with over here, and may we celebrate it another year.

Cheers, TH.

LOL that's funny, TH, H..... Never mind .

P.S. It seriously took me ten minutes to come up with the acronym Glad Waffle. I am ashamed. Those are, however, my real resolutions and you should feel free to create any acronyms your mind hits you with .

Re: New Years Resolutions. - December 31st 2014, 03:27 AM

I do believe in resloutions and sometimes I find forces working against me to be able to keep them. Which ever way I still made a few...
*Be in a better place by this time 2015
*Think more positive
*Stop worrying over things I can not change
*Have the courage to change the things I can
*Find some friends
*Come into cash
*Be a new and better person.

I'd like to...

- Complete my story before Spring;
- Be able to fit into my favorite shorts before Summer;
- Sell my story before Autumn;
- Buy a teacup for my cousin before Winter;
- ... and purchase heirloom seeds before next Spring.

Even though I have literally never made any sincere resolutions or considered following them for more than a day but here goes:

-Write at least 2000 words of my new novel everyday.
-Start working out daily.
-Have a habit of studying regularly.
-No pending schoolwork.
-Save up allowance.
-Take up a new hobby.

My Resolutions are these, because I got engaged in 2014:

-Learn more recipes and do my best to get better at cooking (not just baking)
-Make every day a good day, so my fiancé will be even happier living together with me. (after all, why shouldn't I be happy; I'm getting married!)

I love my Big Sleepy Bear.
I still fill my panties; do YOU?

I don't normally make them, although I'd like to learn some new coding languages. Maybe that could be my one.
I have to say, I did quite enjoy an article I read today - you might enjoy it, here.

Re: New Years Resolutions. - January 3rd 2015, 09:05 PM

I'd like to:

-Commit to NaNoWriMo this year, but that's work dependent of course!
-Attend more of my lectures.
-Start my essays earlier so I don't leave it until the last minute this time.
-Take fewer days off of work and power through a bit better.

books, art, cinema, wine, and so on—
are the things you need to live

Re: New Years Resolutions. - January 4th 2015, 06:32 PM

I want to be braver. I know there's more things I have the opportunity and the capability to do, but I let my fear stand in the way of it. In all honesty I probably won't overcome my cowardice but if I don't at least try I'll be disappointed in myself.

Take as long as you need.

-Eat healthy and refrain from eating junk food.
-Loose weight and continue to run. Also, train for the marathon in the summer.
-Put 110% towards my studies and don't slack off.
-Quit smoking and control amount I drink.
