New Year's Resolutions! - December 29th 2015, 03:05 PM

It's that time of the year!

What are your new year's resolutions and how do you plan on sticking to it?

My new year's resolutions are:

- do well in my online course. I plan to set aside an hour or an hour and half each day or twice a week to focus on that. I want to get at least a B- in this course.
- be a happier person and embrace life. 2015 was mostly a rubbish year, with my depression, drinking issues, and seemingly constant nostalgia. I have a pretty good feeling about 2016 and I want to go into it and keep up my positive spirits. I want to post something inspirational for myself each day, for at least 182 days (or half a year).
- watch what I eat and drink. Hopefully I can start up the food/drink log again and keep track, so it causes me to be more aware of what I consume. My ultimate goal for that is to lose weight and be at a healthy number again.

I think those are the three main ones. What are yours?

Mine are:
1. To embrace change and hectic situations
2. To think positively as much as possible
3. To positively affect those around me

You don't always need a plan.
Sometimes you just need to breathe,
trust, let go, and
see what happens.

1. Seek professional help (once my insurance is fixed) I desperately need it.

2. Try to find a job and figure out a new career I don't hate (probably won't happen in a year), but I feel like I'm running out of time to figure out my life.

New Years Resolutions! - December 31st 2015, 06:01 PM

It's that time of year again. What are your resolutions for next year or even the next semester in school? Remember, no weight numbers please!

Some of mine are:

- Make it to next New Year's Eve
- Start becoming Self Harm free (Starting small I guess?)
- Eat Healthier - Less soda and more water!
- Work harder this next semester

Good luck to everyone and have a safe New Year's Eve!

- Be more consistent with my workouts
- Obtain a 4.0 (got a 3.7 this quarter so this is a reasonable goal hopefully )
- Strengthen my friendships
- Get an internship at the public defenders office

And here you are living, despite it all.

Still to be determined,
Just wanna stick to them this year.

I need to focus on my physical health. It's not that I'm unhealthy, but I'm leading an unhealthy lifestyle so it can happen quickly.

Continue doing well in school.

Try to find a balance.

Hoping to turn things around in 2016. The last three years have been hard on me. Hopefully 2016 will be a year to remember and not a year to forget for me

Re: New Years Resolutions! - January 1st 2016, 04:37 AM

The last 14 months have been the hardest I've ever had.
-- Seek professional help (insurance is supposedly fixed now so I can do it)
-- Figure out what I'm doing career-wise (probably won't happen in a year, but I'm trying)
-- Try to get healthy again (I gained a significant amount of weight during this whole mess)

I'm hoping that the professional help and dealing with everything that happened will make everything else fall into place.

Re: New Years Resolutions! - January 1st 2016, 07:33 AM

I've been considering my resolutions all evening. I suppose I have a few.
I want too..
-Lose some weight (which I suppose seems pretty stereotypical, but when you have a few health issues like I do, it really makes a difference.)
-Become a stronger Daughter of God. (I feel like I can do more to strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father.)
-Become a better friend. (I feel like I don't put as much effort in to my friendships as I could be.)
-Make more of an effort to keep up with my responsibilities around the house. (I seem to slack off, a lot!)

Work on both my physical and mental health. Not that I am in poor health by any means, but I know I can be better than I am now.

Be more helpful and supportive (which will probably automatically happen if I improve my mental health.)
