2018 :3 - January 4th 2018, 01:07 PM

I really don't know what you're supposed to write here but I thought I'd just write my goals for 2018 (first year out of high school!!) because I need to keep track of what I'm doing...and you can comment if you want? Maybe add what you want to achieve for 2018, I don't mind~ I'm feeling quite motivated right now, this will probably be short lived but I plan on getting all goals done regardless of my motivation levels Some of these are small goals and some are bigger.

1. Make and send 100 Cards For Hospitalized Kids
Cards For Hospitalized Kids is a foundation and what they do is all in the name, really. They encourage people to make and send cards for sick or injured kids in hospital to brighten up their day. I'm going to try and buy supplies for this tomorrow, I hope my card making skills aren't too shabby Blank cards come in packs of 25 so I'm going to try and complete this in lots of 4.

2. Read (and complete) 50 books

3. Lose weight, work on my fitness, strength and flexibility
Pretty self-explanatory, I'm looking to lose edited (this is still within a healthy range for me!)

4. Buy a dress
I haven't worn a dress in like 6 years so this actually is a big deal for me!

5. Become a Civilian Instructor volunteering with cadets
Take note that here 'cadets' are 13-17 year olds who are part of a youth organization supported by the military (there are Army, Navy and Air Force cadets). I know there are different meanings for the word 'cadet' so that's why I explained. Usually, the staff volunteering to work with them are ex-military but Civilian Instructors are just volunteers who are not ex-military (and are civilians lol). Basically they just help encourage and educate cadets as well as organize activities. Unfortunately I can't do this until I'm 18 (in September)

6. Successfully have a LDR and not go completely insane

7. Keep a part-time (and my first) job
I've already applied but haven't heard back yet

8. Start my course to become a social worker~

9. Volunteer with youth in order to actually gain experience for social work
Again, I've already applied but yeah...

10. Socialize, don't be a total shut-in
Harder for me than it sounds

11. Sleep
Still harder than it sounds lol

12. Lay off chewing my nails or at least ease up the habit a bit

13. Stay off cutting for good

14. Become more self-sufficient

15. Donate or recycle what I can, to the best of my ability

16. Keep my room at least somewhat orderly

17. Eat healthier

18. Be more confident in driving

19. Drink more water and less caffeine

20. Not be constantly looking at my phone

And as a bonus, I may not get this one done but Actually write a book. I've had really bad and persistent writer's block so this possibly won't happen
I think that's all, I might add more if I think of any
I'd also like more fidget toys but I don't know if that's a real goal lol
...I don't even know if anyone's going to reply to this...

These are all amazing. I hope volunteering goes well too.

Reading 50 books sounds great as well! I have a goal related to reading as well.

These all sound like really good goals, and I hope you manage to achieve them! A couple of years ago I made a goal to read fifty books in the year, and it was actually a lot of fun - it challenged me to finish books that I otherwise might have given up on. If you want someone to talk to about writing, feel free to get in touch; writing is one of my favourite things to do, and I love talking to other people who enjoy it. Have you heard of National Novel Writing Month? That might be a good way to help you achieve your goal of writing a book... plus it's not until November so it will give you plenty of time to plan. Also, if you're looking for another volunteer opportunity where you can work with young people, TeenHelp is always looking for new volunteers. Best of luck with your goals, and feel free to update us throughout the year as you achieve them!

These are all amazing goals! It's great that you want to push yourself to do so much during 2018. I've actually also set a goal of reading 50 books this year. If you'd like, feel free to message me and we can try to keep each other accountable for our reading goals.
