Getting in shape is a bunch of fun! You can make your workout specific to you and yours personal preference. Cardio workouts (running/swimming) are good for keeping your heart in shape and can also keep your body toned (plus lose weight). Weight training is more geared for just building muscle. Personally, I like to do a little of everything.
When I am really kicking my butt into shape:
~15 mile runs.
One hour of weight lifting (arm workout only)
One hour of core strengthening (push-ups, sit-ups/crunches, leg lifts, etc.)
When I just want to get a good solid work out:
~4 mile runs.
50 crunches/situps.
When I want to workout for fun:
Swim for a few hours in a pool.
Go for a bike ride.
Walk for 8 hours with a friend.
I hear dance video's can be fun to work out to as well!
Be sure to work out 5 times a week for at least an hour or so. Stretch before and after, too! If you are looking to gain some muscle tone as well, eat lot's of proteins.
Hope this helped, feel free to message me anytime! I know a lot about weight loss/gain from my sports =]
There's nothing wrong with being a little bit shy, everyone is different and some people have more extroverted personalities than other! The important thing to remember is that your shyness isn't connected to low self esteem. You have to believe in yourself and understand how truly awesome you are Maybe you could try joining a sports team or club? That way you could conquer both your shyness and your fitness goals at the same time. Two birds one stone typa thing?
Lol Amy is pretty much a beast. Stupid washboard abs Anyway, for a work-out I go walking on the beach so I can get a nice tan. Also, I go dancing or play tennis for an hour or so. =) Maybe consider volunteering at a preschool - that's like...all of it...all in one! :P You will 100% get a work-out =P
