Living the high life - March 2nd 2010, 03:33 AM

Hey does anyone have some ideas for a person who's going to be spending their entire life single? I figure I have enough content so far to live until i'm around 25, which will be the danger area of where I will probably heavily consider suicide. I need more things to think of doing by then, any ideas?

Why are you assuming you will be single forever? You never know--you can meet anyone at any time, at any age! But, that being said, your happiness and self-worth doesn't have to be related to whether or not you are in a relationship. What makes you happy? What do you have a passion for? What would you want to wake up and do every day? THOSE are things that count the most--find something you love, and go do it!

Re: Living the high life - March 2nd 2010, 08:17 PM

Problem is the only slight thing I have an interest in is programming, and that doesn't come to fruition because I know for a fact there will always be someone who did the same thing I did, 200 times better. So it's a never ending loop of disappointment. I've been speculating my depression for years and, at a young age, cultivating it to get even worse. I've done myself in all I want to do is prolong the inevitable.

P.s. I know i'll be single forever based on many factors that I can't even start to list here. Basically the amount of output the other significant other would have to use in order to get my attention would more than probably any female human being is capable of doing. I'm not suggesting physical provocation, i'm just talking in general areas such as personality, physical appearance, area situation, circumstances, and a tonne more things.

Imagine being struck by lightning ten times in the same spot in a full rubber suit while winning five different lotteries five times in a second. That's the chances of me finding a significant other and being successful enough to get anywhere with them. The chances are so slim that instead of dreaming of that day, and preparing myself for it, i've decided to stop doing that and just focus on how little more time I have and just live my life, with no hopes, until that day comes.
