Two goals that can kind of go together - April 20th 2010, 01:11 PM

So last semester at college, I broke down. I wanted to go to school for animation but every time I drew something I felt incredibly stressed. Art stopped being fun. Not because my skill wasn't as high as I wanted, though that was part of it, but because I just had no ideas and art quickly became a chore instead of something I loved doing. So I dropped all my classes and took the semester off to think. That's when I decided to try for being a chef. My real second choice would be a lawyer but I know that's a really stressful job and I'm a little slow when it comes to learning. I'll just stick to praying I can get jury duty to get to see court in action haha.

So I decided that I'd be a chef. I love cooking, and while I used to burn everything I touched I've gotten much better seeing as how I did all the cooking when my mom and I moved out of my grandfather's house for awhile. I always have fun cooking, I never get stressed out, and even if I fail, I feel ok about it and don't feel like...well a failure! Only problems with this career is 1- I usually stay at my boyfriend's house where I don't get the chance to cook often and I don't feel his family likes my cooking too much (no one says it's good or anything when I cook something. they eat it but they don't say anything. My boyfriend says it's good though and he'll eat second and third helpings so I know it's not total crap if he can hold it down, and they're my grandfather's recipes so I KNOW it's good). and when I'm at home, I can't cook unless it's 2-4 AM or if my grandfather hovers over me because he doesn't trust me with the oven or stove and thinks i'll burn the house down. (i always keep a box of baking soda near me when I cook just in case). so I haven't got much practice aside from helping my grandfather out and making banana muffins out of rotting bananas.

My other goal is to lose a bit of weight. I've always had a chubby belly, ever since I was little, and I've managed to maintain a size [Edited by Keeley] in pants for most of my life (did get down to [Edited] last year but went back up to [Edited]..but can still squeeze into SOME [Edited] things). So considering I want to cook, I can use this to help me lose weight! I also bought an itouch recently and decided to try counting calories as a way to control how much I eat, so I got a free calorie counter which lets me either choose from a list of foods or enter in my own. It put in my current weight and height and showed me how many calories I can have per day.

So I can have [Edited] calories per day.
My goal is to lose [Edited] pound a week
I will do one 30 minute workout per week (like hard core sweating kind of exercise) and take a long walk once a day, weather permitting.
My current weight is [Edited]. I put in a random weight as my goal since I'm not really good with measurements so I don't know what my weight SHOULD be for my age and height (19, 5'2" ish give or take)

So far I think I can do it even though it's my first day. My grandfather unfortunately tends to cook somewhat fatty meals (not always though) and always always gives GIANT portions so I'll have to be careful with that. I've also decided to add more fiber to my diet since i heard it makes you full. I woke up with a grumbly tummy so I tried a fiber one bar I got (chocolate mocha mmm) and it filled me up pretty well. I still have a small hunger pain going on so I'm going to pair it with a banana since my diet tips app says to pair every meal with fruit or vegetables.

My real goal is pants size or tummy size. I have a bikini I'd like to feel comfortable wearing without a shirt on over it (BF says I look fine but I'm shy) and i'd like to get down to at least size [Edited] in pants if not lower.

I also hope my breast size goes down a bit hahaha. I love my breasts but they're too big for my taste I'd like to be a [Edited] again.

Wish me luck! if you have any tips for this or any recipes that are healthy, filling, and cheap to make please share!

Well that wasn't really fair of everyone else -.- mean people....

I happened to be in the area doing something else, since no one has replied to you (I loled at the sarcastic comment) I will!

Well... i'm not really sure what to say, you know i think the only reason i stay slim is because i'm hyper active, If theres a wall i jump on it If theres a sofa i jump over the top a sit down. Just these tiny little things which keep me fit... or, at least i think. Its good that your me sensible and dieting properly than starving yourself,
It means your strong! I respect that!

Other that i would google the chef thing find whatever you can on getting a job for it or whatever.
Hope it all goes well try to find a way to make exercises fun *dancing to music alone would help* and i would talk to your grandfather about the giant portions thing... see if you can get him to lower it.

Oh also try to get obssessed with a healthy piece of food, like at school i'm know as the rabbit, because of it i on purposely pretend to be obssessed with carrots.... now i actually like eating carrots.

Hope i've helped ^^ or at least been supportive -.- those rude people
