Goals for when I start college in September.

• No matter how tired I am I must FORCE myself to go everyday (unless I'm ill obviously)
• Talk to at least one new person everyday
• Finish every piece of homework in time
• Join a club
• Go to bed at a reasonable time every night

Those are all good goals. I am starting college in a couple of weeks, but some of those goals I don't have to worry about.

-> You're here to learn goddamn it. If you're set something, don't just do it, learn everything about it!
-> Computers are evil. It's OK to have your little satanic shrine in your bedroom. It's not OK to spend your life on it.
-> People don't bite. Say hi.
-> God was able to rest on Sunday because he wasn't working for a degree. You are. Say goodbye to weekends.
-> Don't wear a tail to lectures. Ever.
-> Be nice to the people you live with, you have to ehmm... live with them!
-> Do the shopping when you have the time. It's kinda hard to do it when you don't.

Now how many of those I'll actually keep is something to find out...

These goals are great. The hardest thing to do is sticking with them - I said hi to everyone in my freshman year but kinda lost that habit the along the way. You guys inspired me to set goals per year so I don't forget

How do you start a conversation with a complete stranger?

I kind of want to know this too :/ From what I've learned is to start a conversation about something you can both relate to (the weather is the obvious answer) so it doesn't seem odd/weird. You'd think me being interested in psychology would help but it doesn't really

Goals are good, but you all forgot one....

HAVE FUN! Seriously.

First year is mainly about meeting people, sure there are classes and work etc, but until second/third year when it gets really into the core subject, you do need to speak to people, make friends and enjoy college/uni. You're not going to be inclined to work at all if you don't enjoy it.

I think these are great goals, Ceilidh. It might be hard at first but I know that you can do it! And you'll feel so great about yourself for accomplishing them. Good luck <3

These goals are perfect ideas Ceilidh. I do agree that meeting and greeting people is a good idea to do your first year at least. ;D How about this goal?

1. Wake up on time and STAY awake! Do not get ideas of falling asleep.
