NEW BAND AND WE GOT PLANS!

Hey guys!

I've been absent from the forums for a bit because I went on tour with a singer/songwriter for a few months and had SUPER limited access to the internets. We were literally sleeping in a van or on the floor of people's homes for the better part of 3 months.

BUT, I'm back, and I've joined up with a new band, with hopes of making it big, and I really want your opinion on the music! I've been told that we're kind of a mix become punk, pop, and ska/reggae (kind of like Blink 182 meets Ill Scarlett, but without Tom Delonges whiney vocals).

We're hoping to get on Warped Tour 2012, and in order to do that, we have to have a MASSIVE fan base to get on any of the stages.

Nice melodies, hideous lyrics. Maybe rework the lyrics? I could almost predict what all the rhymes would be for both. The themes in those to songs have been done ad nauseum.

Guitar solo was generic, play to your strengths of rhythm section (drums were interesting)

I won't comment on the vocalist, because that is more of an opinion.

Yeah, the singer definitely recognized that they're lyrically weak. They're just demos and are being reworked atm, we put them out there to get people's feedback to see whether or not people actually liked our sound!

Oops, an indirect compliment. Do what the Clash did, turn him into a guitarist or bassist and go find a better frontman

Never ever start anything musically only trying to get big.

Do it for the thrill and fun of it, as soon as being famous is your main idea you will "sell out" and write lyrics/play music that you want people to like, not what you want to play.

its some good stuff, i do like, but i do agree with ian with do it for the fun of things and dont worry to much about making it big, have more fun with the path of music vs making money

Haha, good points. I guess the real idea is not so much to be famous, but to be making enough money that we don't have to have a "day job." If you know what I mean.
