Positive Wallpaper Collection -

A few months back, when I was having trouble accepting my sexuality, I had a wallpaper on my computer which I got from a site that distributes Creative Commons licensed wallpapers. I edited it to have the message "It's okay to be me". And so everytime I would log on at school I'd see that very encouraging message. In fact, I'd sometimes hide all my windows just to stare at it when I had some downtime in my work. It occurred to me this evening--there are so many beautiful pictures out there licensed in ways that allow modifications and redistribution (and the number is growing by the day too) so why not have a website dedicated to distributing modified wallpapers that have positive and encouraging quotes, messages, idioms, etc? It can be done incredibly simply by anyone who has a simple image editor. You can even do it in some cases with something as simple as Microsoft Word if you're on a low budget. And seeing a positive message frequently can make a whole world of difference for some. Being that this project can be accomplished with low resources, I intend to make it happen...and soon!
