A future PE teacher - March 26th 2012, 09:54 AM

I have a place at Sheffield Hallam university and aim to start in September. I have a passion for sport and did really well in trampolining, coming 2nd in the novice under 19 girls category. But after a knee injury, I havent been able to compete.

Right now I'm going through this phase where everything seems to be slipping away from me. Like my goal is so far away and impossible to reach. I need to pick myself up quick before I begin my exams, otherwise I have no chance!

Hi there!

What I've begun to learn from people and things in my own life, is that you can really accomplish and pursue any passion, despite injury or disability. And what I see in you is some serious passion and desire, which is exactly what you need to accomplish your goals. Even if things feel as though they are slipping away, you can always get them back. Like you said-- you can be a PE teacher, even if you can't compete in trampolining anymore (Congratz on getting 2nd btw!!).

Don't let an injury hold you back. Remember that you have other talents and abilities, alright? Focus on exams for the time being, and then thinking about some realistic goals for yourself.

Best of luck,
Amy
