Nightmares - August 1st 2013, 04:06 AM

I don't know if this is suppost to mean anything but Im scared.

I've had nightmares in which Im about to be raped. They started a few weeks ago and last night was really scary. I was never abused as a child so I don't know why Im having these nightmares but Im really scared. Help please.

Hey there!

What do you think about before you fall asleep? Some people think that your thought process right before you drift off to sleep can have a great deal of what your dreams are. You should try to listen to soft music and think happier thoughts before falling asleep. Whenever I get flashbacks, I like to grab a stuffed animal to remind me that I'm still physically here.

Do you think it's possible that you were abused as a kid and you just don't remember? Maybe your feelings are manifesting themselves in other ways if you aren't getting expressing them in a healthy way.

Its possible that something happened when you were younger and you couldn't deal with it, so your brain used it natural instincts and blocked the memories for you, it happens alot and its possible something could of happened. I don't mean to scare you or worry you but I'm just trying to see if its possible.

On another note, if you have watched movies or read books about it, I know that can effect your thought process and it can lead to nightmares even if it hasn't happened to you. Or it can be paranoia or general anxiety, sometimes anxiety can lead to you thinking about things and imaging things will happen when they don't.

Overall don't rush things or over think, if anything has happened let it come the natural way don't try to force the memories out of your head, its best to let your brain process them.
