telling my tutor - October 29th 2009, 09:52 PM

i want to tell my tutor about what mainly my postman did to me, and i also want to tell my tutor about my dad and the arguments that i have with my dad because the arguments between me and my dad are getting bad agian i dont often cry but today an argument with my dad made me sit against my bedroom door jsut so my dad come upstairs and come into my room. im scared of him, and i want to tell my tutor, but im scared to do this aswell because if i tell my tutor it means she will get social services involved and the police involved as if i tell her it means what i tell her will let her think that my sisters are at risk when they are not, well they do occaisonly witness my dad hurt me but apart from that they dont see my dad hurt me or get hurt by my dad. the postman only did what he did to me he didnt touch my sisters or anything as they always got lifts to school. i want to tell my tutor about both of these, as on tuesday my tutor saw my cuts and asked me what they were. i want to tell her about my dad and the postman but im scared because i no it will mean my tutor telling other tutors, and my tutor telling social services and the police and then my mum will find out and it will all be made worse agian. what do i do help please i want to tell my tutor but am scared to.

You have to tell to her. hon, things will get hard, but after they will get better. you shouldnt have to go through this alone. its a really scary thing to do but your gonna be better off. your dad may not be hurting your sisters now, but what about when you leave? its gonna be scary and difficult but in the end it'll turn out, and you'll be a stronger person for it. none of this is your fault, what your post man did to you is wrong. you were the victim, but if you dont report him think of all the other girls he could do this to. your tutor and your mom will stand by you, and your father will get help for his problem. Doing the right thing is never easy but it will pay off in the end.
pm me if you ever need to talk. i really hope everything will work out for you.

Re: telling my tutor - October 30th 2009, 01:02 AM

I was in your same exact position about two months ago, only instead of my tutor, I talked to my mentor about it. I must admit, it was real hard admitting problems at home, but I was real happy about doing so, because it lifted alot of stress off my shoulders and it really helped me. And my mentor told nobody about this but my school guidance counselor, the authorities were not involved at all. My guidance counselor set me up with a regular counselor, and I have my first appointment this monday. I am definitely not regretting telling her, and I found it gave me and my mentor a closer bond with each other.

If you EVER need help, you can PM me anytime.

I gots...
