Hi there,

Flashbacks can be so difficult to cope with. I'm so glad that you felt comfortable reaching out for help here...you deserve to be heard, deserve help with this. You are a very brave individual.

Whenever I'm having a flashback, it helps to make sure that I plant myself in the present. This sometimes means doing things that snap me back to reality; exercise, a cold shower, talking to someone. I have to say, talking to someone works best for me. When someone can talk you through things, it's much less scary and frightening than dealing with it alone. You could talk to anyone you feel you can trust; a teacher, a close friend, a relative. Think about it; talking can really help so much.

Take care, and if you ever need anything, feel free to shoot me a PM.

"For the first time
in a long time,
I can say that I wanna try.
I feel helpless for the most part,
but I'm learning to open my eyes.
And the sad truth of the matter is,
I'll never get over it,
but I'm gonna try
to get better and overcome each moment
in my own way"

A game I used to play with my therapist when I was having flashbacks during sessions was to have a number between 1-5 and name that number of things for every sense (if you can, smell and taste can be difficult to work with) I used see, hear and touch.. it helps ground you into the here and the now. Hope it helps.
(: xx

You wont try for me, not now,
Though I'd die to know you love me,

I'm all alone,

Isn't something missing?
Isnt someone missing me [x]

Baby, i want you to be my superman.

My PTSD is so bad...I'm so scared. I've been self-harming too. I just can't handle these flashbacks, they are so intense....they feel like they are happening all over again...its horrible.

The lady I talk to says that you should talk through what happens and try to move on but not to shove it off and deal with everything later.I have bad dreams and some flashbacks too. They are not a bad as they use to be.
