My stepmom hit me.

Okay, so let me start from the beginning. About two hours ago my dad left for work. Right before he left I asked him if I could go for a walk he said it was fine, but when I got home my stepmom was home. Right as I walked in the door she grabbed me by my arm and started yelling at me. She accused my of sneaking out because my window was open and she didn't know I was gone. Which isn't my fault. My dad said he would tell her. I tried to tell her what was going on, but she smacked me across the face and threw me into my room. She told me to shut up and stop crying. I sat on the floor shaking like crazy. I couldn't hold back the tears. I was scared that she was going to hear me and hit me again. This isn't the first time she has layed her hands on me. Last time she threw me into my dresser and I got a huge bruse on my arm. She is also always telling me that I am a failure at life. I can't take anymore of this. What do I do?

If you haven't told your dad yet then you really should. That is never ok and I'm so sorry that happened to you

Actually, I did tell my dad. He didn't believe me. My own dad!

Show him your bruses and all the other physical signs of it.

I showed him the bruse the first time this happened, but my stepmom told him she saw me trip in my room. This time there is no bruse and he isn't even home. My cheek was red for a little bit but it's kind of going away. I don't know why he doesn't believe me.

He probably doesn't want to believe you because he doesn't want to believe that his wife would do that to his daughter. People don't like to believe the bad about people they love. It's not your fault that he's not believing you- it's just what people do.

And don't listen to anything your stepmom says. You are not a failure at life. Most likely she's got a shit life and she's taking it out on you because she's jealous.

I'd say keep telling your dad when it happens. Maybe you can get a lock on your bedroom door?

Can you talk to a counsellor about it maybe? If things get really bad, you can always call the police.
