Questions? - April 4th 2010, 02:18 AM

I'm pretty sure I've wrote about some of this before but I'm having a lot of issues with it agian so I'll go ahead and tell you guys.

So back in the 8th grade I was sexually abused. He was one of my friends, and unfornatly I did not tell soon enough and my school could not do anything. He kept abusing me for the rest of my 8th grade year.

It did not stop there it turns out he would be going to my high school were he continued to abuse me for about two monthes because the principal refused do to anything. I was to afraid to tell the police.

After Freshmen year he stoped bothering me.

Now I'm a Junior and he is in my lunch period. And I see him almost every passing period. I don't really want to swich lunch periods. I've tried to ask my counselor to switch it but she told me it was bad for my coping and I kind of agree but I then told my therapist and she thinks I should change lunchs because I am really reallly afraid. I should propably add that I am having horrible flashbacks and nightmares at least each once or twice a day.

So what would you do swich your lunch period I don't know?

Other question.

My counselor wants/thinks I should be on medication. I think it might be helpful but I'm also afraid. My therapist has brought it up but I also change the subject.

I guess the question is do you think I should try meds? and how would I bring up the subject with my therapist if she does not?

Hey Meg,

So, your second question first, only you can decide whether or not meds might help you. Trying them can't hurt, and it might help, but it's your decision. I've been on four different anti-depressants/psychotics, and although I decided meds were not for me, they might work for you. Everyone is different, so I can't tell you whether you should try them or not.

If you think you can handle being in the same period as him, then stay there. But if it is causing you more harm, and is causing you to fall backwards, then maybe you just aren't ready for that yet, and moving periods might be beneficial.

Take care, and if you need anything, feel free to pm me.
