How do I deal with it? - May 9th 2010, 12:06 AM

When I was 3 I was raped twice. The second time for 6 years. I know who did it both times and I never turned them in for it. Now its to late to do anything about it. My fiance knows about it and knows who did it both times and says he will be there for me the whole time and to take my time. We live about 2 hours away from each other right now. I go to a counselor at my school every friday about it. She says I need to start doing things that remind me of what happened. I tried doing things on cam with my fiance last weekend and last night, but I couldn't do it without having flashbacks. I want to do it but I can't. How do I get rid of the flashbacks?

Hey there,

It is never too late to turn someone in. Don't think that at all. The police can still go after the person.
I'm glad that your fiance is so supportive.
You need to learn to control flashbacks. When you get one, breathe and be aware of your surroundings.
Go slowly with your bf. By slowly, I mean go to a certain point and then stop and go to that point again the next and do that until you are comfortable and then go a bit farther.

Take care <3
