Try sleeping with something that makes you feel safe. If you have a pet set up their bed next to your own. My dog sleeps next to my bed so when I wake from one of my bad dreams I can reach out and bury my hand in his fur. It makes me feel safe. Also try going to sleep with calm music and taking a perfume or something that calms you. Perhaps the perfume your mother wears or your partner. If you can't think of something like that then lavender is very calming. Before you go to bed do a 'word dump' where you write everything you're thinking down before you go to sleep. This helps to empty your mind a bit.

I know its hard, and the only way to properly get rid of them is...well, years of working it through in your own head. You won't find peace for a long time yet... its just the nature of whats happened to you. It will make you stronger though. I'm sorry about your friend. Stay strong <3 If the world is a cold place Make it your business to start some fires Formerly *Rainbow*Love* ![]() |
