Reality or Nightmare?

I don't know... lately (almost every night) I have been having this nightmare where my moms boyfriends son rapes me. I have been sexually assultated by him once but I blocked it out for a long time. But I don't know if this is a dream or it actually happened. Its really freaking me out I can't stop thinking about it. My mom didn't believe me when I told her about the assult and I have no desire to tell her about this. I do see a therapist but I'm just scared if I talk about it it will just make more real than it is already.

I'm not sure if it's real or just a nightmare. You would have to talk to a professional who can help you figure that out, if you want to know.

But either way, this is hurting you. If it's real it obviously hurt you, and if it's a nightmare it's still real to some part of your imagination. A thought can hurt just as much as the real thing sometimes.

What you need to ask yourself is, what would it accomplish if you found out if it was real or not? Obviously if it's just a nightmare nothing would change, but what if it's real? Your mom doesn't believe you, would you press charges by yourself? Pressing charges might not accomplish anything because it was a while ago (I'm guessing), and you don't have any proof. If you wouldn't do anything about it, there's not really any point in finding out if it's real or not.

In my opinion, you should concentrate on blocking out the nightmare in some way. I used a dreamcatcher when I was younger to get rid of nightmares, and it worked very well for me. You could try focusing on something else before you go to bed. Or you can say out loud before you go to bed "please don't let me have any nightmares tonight." I'm sure other people know of different techniques, if none of these works for you.

Look, you have to take care of this problem before it totally intensifies, like if they got married. Ive been taken advantage of twice when I was little, and then I took advantage of a kid when I was seven myself. What Im saying is, if you dont find an effective way to deal with this, It could make you become weird too.
How about you talk to a priest? They can be really helpful. (I recommend a Catholic priest)
