Unhappy Anxious for a track meet tomorrow (Back again) - April 29th 2012, 07:51 PM

So some of you may have already seen my thread about how I was nervous for a track meet like a month and a half ago... Well I am down to my second to last track meet and I couldn't be happier that I am finishing. Never signing up for it again.

But I am still pretty nervous about this meet and it is the last good team we face before we face a crappy team, which will be a godsend as that one will be a home meet.

Can someone please just give me some positive reinforcement for this meet tomorrow because I just feel like I need it to push through this last one...

Hey Brilly,

The good news is that this is your last track meet. It clearly didn't agree with you, and you see no reason to continue with the meets.

The sole thing you have to focus on, is concentrating on your role in the team, completing your role in it, and withdrawing yourself from it afterwards. That is all.

Your only 'job' is to be part of, and complete the race, to the best of your ability. Besides that, you have NO obligations. Focus on that, and nothing more.

Once you've run, you've done what was expected in that particular role, and your position is no longer under any obligation.

Do your best, i'm sure you'll run splendidly Good luck!

Thank you! The meet went well and I was more than happy with how I did. 3rd place in the 800 event! And now I am finished with my meets and the season. Thank you very much for giving me the last bit of advice!
