Mood Swings - May 2nd 2012, 11:43 PM

So Ill try to keep this as short as possible...
Basically, one second Im super happy and feel like i can accomplish anything and that everything is going sooo well, and then the next moment (sometimes even without a bad thing happening) I just feel all depressed and sad and everything comes crashing down on me and i feel like just giving up on life.

I havent been diagnosed with depression or any psychological disorders or anything... could i have one?!?

but yeah if you could help me out... not sure exactly what im asking but any help would be great

PM me if you need anything Except ice cream. I never share my ice cream

Anyone COULD have depression or bipolar or other phycological disorders. Unfortunately no one here can diagnose you with anything. Your best option would be to go to a doctor or a school counselor that can help you out. Mood swings are pretty popular early teen years but it could be something larger so definitely get it checked out so it doesn't start to get worse or anything.

Whatever it is, chances are I've been there.
If I can make it out, you can too.

Let's put it this way... You're also a 14 year old male. Your hormones ALONE can justify mood swings.

However, if this is affecting you (like, thoughts of suicide, hurting yourself, etc.), then you should probably talk to your GP. They would know what kind of precautionary measures to take (maybe check for physical issues, like the thyroid..?), as well as knowing whether this is something they can treat or not.

It could be a symptom of a psychological disorder or even a symptom of a physical ailment. Consult with your GP or doctor, who can refer you to a psychological service, and/or do tests to check for physical abnormalities.

Best of luck, we're here for you!
