My mind is like one big cloud. - February 22nd 2013, 01:24 PM

Hey Everyone.

So like, I feel really weird lately. Just, a lot of the time I find it kinda hard to focus because all that's on my mind is why's, how's and all that about our existence. All like computers and technology and history is all relevant to something in the future, and that is all I can think about. I've completely locked myself away in my room because I hate socialising now.

I have quite a few friends and I wanna talk to them but I just can't be bothered to leave the house. All I seem to want to do is sit in my room thinking about them things. I don't understand why I feel like this now? Just my brain feels weird.

Is it my meds? I am on 50mg Sertraline a day for Severe Depression.

Anyone else felt like this? What should I do?

I can't tell you why you feel this way, but if you suspect the medication could have something to do with this, I'd definitely suggest talking to your GP/mental health professional ASAP. Even if it's not the medication, talking to that person about how you're feeling could bring up some possible explanations, which could be explored further. Has anything else significant happened lately (aside from taking the medication), such as changes in your home environment or school/work situation?

The only change really is since I spent time in hospital in January after a dog attack. Which was traumatizing I suppose and I guess it could lead to this but I'm not sure.
I went to the doctors and they've told me to cut down my medication. :/

Sometimes when I was on depression medication, I found it made me want to ponder my existence entirely. Why was I here? What's going to happen? What's the meaning of everything and nothing? It happens. You get stuck on it, and you lock yourself away. I'm not sure why, but it was one of my reactions to medication.

I always thought it was the lack of chaos in my brain when the medication was involved is what stimulated deep thoughts pertaining to life. The way that I dealt with it? Force yourself to go out. Even if you're in your own little world while you're out and kind of spacey because of the face you're thinking too much about everything, it's still comfortable to be around friends.

If you don't want to go out with friends, take little walks. Through the woods or park, or just dilly-dally in public. ;P Any people is better than no people, and to feel people around you usually gets me out of that funk.

I hope I helped somewhat.
