Seeking counselling references in New Westminster, BC - May 26th 2014, 04:42 PM

Hey everyone I'm looking for counselling services in new Westminster British Columbia here in Canada.

If anyone has any links or phone number or anything like that, that would be great! Anything that could help!

I did a quick google search and I came up with these, they list counsellors with phone numbers. If you need anything feel free to VM/PM me :hugs:

Hi,

it is really great you are looking for counselors. I am not sure what you are wanting help with however I am glad you are taking steps to get help.
I do not have any links to counselors in your area.
Maybe you can use a search engine to find what you are looking for. Type in your zip code and counseling services or local counseling services. Also, it could be helpful for you to check out the hotlines. Maybe you can call one related to what you are struggling with and ask them if they can direct you to local services.
I hope this helps and that you find a counselor soon.

I live in BC too and from what I know of our mental health system you have to go through the proper channels. One way to get in to see a counsellor is start with your regular GP or whatever dr happens to be at your local walk in clinic. They can give you a referral, which typically gets pushed through the system a little bit faster than a self-referral. If you'd rather self-refer (which is totally ok too!), I think a good step to take would be to call the above number or go in person. Keep calling back too - if you don't keep them updated, they assume everything's fine and stop calling you. Good luck!
