sleep. - December 17th 2017, 05:52 PM

If this is in the wrong place I'm sorry. I thought this would be the best place for this.

So for about the last 6 months I have actually been able to go to sleep on my own without my sleeping pills. That is amazing to me since I have been on some sort of sleeping pill since I was 3 or 4. Anyways it is so nice but some days I sleep until like 1 or 2 pm then I can't sleep and stay up all day, then want to sleep all day again. I was wondering if there is a way to sleep even if I sleep till 1 or 2pm?

Sorry for the late reply!

That is really amazing that you can sleep without sleeping tablets, especially if you have been on them for most of your life!

I think it can be possible to sleep during the night, even if you end up waking up at 1 or 2 pm. You may need to go to bed slightly later in order to actually sleep rather than stay awake. In general, we need around 8 hours of sleep, so if you find yourself sleeping in until 1pm, and then not being able to sleep the other night, you could try going to bed later, perhaps around the early hours of the morning.

Otherwise, you may want to try to change your sleeping habits so that you don't sleep in until the afternoon. This may involve going to bed earlier, so that you can wake up earlier. Whatever changes you decide to make to your sleeping routine, it might help to bring the changes in slowly and gradually. Perhaps going to bed earlier/later 15 minutes each week, until your desired time.

Hope others can help you as well!
