Well, no, not really. But I have many many of these over the years. Last was, I believe, July 2019.
The thing is I need to take a break from the forums for my mental health and sanity. I went on leave the other day for very different reasons, but figured I could be active on the weekends when I had more down time.
Tonight, there's been a shift and I realize I can't be on here the way I want to be. I need to take a break from the forums, not look at any threads or do moderating duties.
I am feeling physically sick now and any noise is freaking the hell out of me. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I have this nagging paranoia that someone i used to know is on here. They are not a very good person and they have severe issues.
I would rather not get into details but just say this, I need to take a step back from the website.
I'll still be hanging around on Discord and doing my non-forum duties, though.
Take as much time as you need. Your mental health and physical wellbeing a far more important.
Your thoughts and feelings don't sound ridiculous at all. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, don't forget this site and its resources are here to help you. Never be afraid to speak out or let one of the lead moderators/project coordinators know if you think there's somebody on here that may cause you harm. You're a highly valued member of staff, to me, and to so many others of this site. Your welfare is important.
Take as much time as you need - mental health and real life always come first. You give so much already so you deserve a break if you're running on empty. And as Sarah has said already, if you need anything there are plenty of people here who can help so don't be afraid to reach out if you need to. I hope you're doing okay. See you when you get back
