in the middle of everything - November 17th 2009, 03:11 PM

i've been losing too much sleep over this.

it's just that i think alot. too much actually. and it's given me insomnia and so much exhaustion.
i try to stop but i can't. i just keep on thinking of something of everything so much.

why is that? could this be some kind of mental condition? if so, then that would be great. i would have less to think about then. and i'd know why i do this.

i've never been to a psychiatrist since my parents aren't exactly open about things like this. they are perfectionists and think things like these are better left rotting.

anyway, i know a psychiatrist wouldn't be able to understand me anyway. what i need are answers....realizations...and a philosophy professor i guess...

i don't know what to do. i know i'm killing myself through this but i just can't stop!

What exactly are you thinking about? Are you thinking about something or are you worrying about something?

Only a doctor can tell you if this is a mental condition. Having said that, insomnia is not a good thing. If you're lacking in sleep, then you're going to have other problems. Try exercising some good sleep hygiene like relaxing before going to bed, not staying in bed if you aren't falling asleep, avoid TV before going to bed, etc. You need to slow down your brain before going to bed. Now on the other hand, if all of this thinking is making you anxious and that's what's keeping you awake, then it might be wise to see a doctor.
