Help? - January 13th 2010, 12:09 PM

Ive had anxiety since i was 4 and ive had depression since i was 12. About a year ago i finally felt like i was getting over it and all my family think im completley fine. I put on a face when im around friends or family but i'm really struggling to cope and i dont know what to do. I cant see my doctor anymore cause my family think im fine and im really struggling to stop it from coming back. I dont know what to do anymore.

Well, I think you should come clean with your family, or try to see your doctor and get help without them knowing. Either way, you're going to need something. Says you're 19, so seeing a doctor won't automatically mean your family has to know.

Sure, your family may think your fine, but you aren't obligated to tell them anything. If you want to go back to your doctor, you can. If your family doesn't like it or gives you a hard time, remind them that you're taking care of yourself. I just went to my doctor for anxiety because I realized I just wasn't coping well either, it really will make a world of difference.
