Angry/Depressed -
February 23rd 2010, 01:02 AM
For the last couple of years I've been depressed. Recently I've been getting really angry about the smallest things. People making slight remarks, things not going my way, etc. It's been really hard for me not to get violent and start shouting, hitting people, throwing things. What can this be? What can help it?

Well, it may be part of your depressed feelings. Maybe you should consider seeking some help for this. Sorry I don't know what else to say.

I know what you mean, I think it probably is due to you being more irritable/sensitive because of the depression?
Perhaps you should go and talk to an adult (doctor, teacher, parent, relative) about this, who will know you better and they can support you how you need it and offer you the right sort of help. Try things like counting to ten before you speak if someone has made a comment and breathing slowly, that should help you control your anger. If gets too much, scream into your pillow when you get home, have a pillow fight with the wall ![]() Let me know if you need anything, Take care <3 |

Having been there dude, I can tell you it's depression. Might be clinical depression. Part of is becoming angry, it's a symptom. Comes and goes like other forms of depression though, so just stay strong and you'll make it through.

Wow, you completely read my mind. I've been the same way lately. I don't know what's causing it either...

(that's a beyond-great name, by the way)I'm really sorry that you're struggling with that its very difficult to manage feelings of depression and anger both together, although the second can be a symptom of the first. We're not actually able to diagnose you with anything, so we can't exactly tell you what's going on :/ but here are some other resources & places you can contact to find someone who can both help and tell you what's going on, like a school counsellor if you're in school, a family doctor, employee assistance programs, private clinics, community health centers, hospital psychiatry departments, social workers, any mental health specialist such as a psychologist or a university/medical school affiliated programs. Some ways of managing your anger may include taking deep breaths, doing something mentally challenging or time-consuming like counting to one hundred or going through the alphabet backwards. You can also try just getting into some sort of activity, like martial arts or running, which tends to help with both anger and depression. Best of luck, and I really hope that you can get whatever help you need <3 Shoot a PM my way if there's anything I can do to help. - Nev if i've ever learned anything, it's to be loved.
funny how accepting and allowing that can be so hard, when loving someone else can be so easy. the thing is, we accept exactly what we think we deserve, no matter what that may be. so i'm thinking it's time to change our mindsets; if we haven't yet figured out that we deserve the best, then it's certainly time. think about it ;] <3 love, Nev |
