Hey there Cat,
I really would advise that you talk to someone about these dreams and how they make you feel - especially if they are traumatising you. I think you should talk to your mum and let her know, then maybe she'd be more willing to take you. If you don't want to see a sleep pathologist, could you at least try to make an appointment with a GP/doctor? If you don't mind me asking, could it be that perhaps something could have happened to you when you were younger, that is causing these dreams? How old do you reckon you are in these dreams?
