Help me please -
March 13th 2010, 07:09 AM
I know this is going to sound REALLY weird but, I need help. Please!
My mind is officially ruining my life. Its keeping me awake at night thinking about things that happened like 5 years and im finding it harder to concentrate on work at college and hw. IDK what to do to make my mind shut up. Its like some weird movie, like i have different personalities(people), one in my head and me, the one in my head is trying to destroy me and take over.(haha) I know it's weird but, if u have any advice, any at all, I'll take it. ![]() Some say the world will end in fire Some say in ice From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire But if it had to perish twice I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice. -- Robert Frost-- |

Hey there Crystal,
Sometimes our minds can dwell on events that happened a long time ago. It's a natural way of dealing with things. Our minds can be funny things sometimes! Unfortunately, nobody on TeenHelp is a doctor and cannot diagnose you with anything. I would suggest that you visit your doctor to talk about this, though. To some desgree, we all experience mental health issues, but it is when that issue starts to affect and impact on your life that you need to try and get help for it. So, I think you should visit your doctor and explain how you are feeling and what is going on in your mind. He can then look at various treatment options available, and you can start to get on the right track again! Adam (: |

I definatly know how you feel. I over analyze every thing, I over think all the time, and I always think things have deeper meanings. It makes me very paranoid, and it disturbs my life too...I agree with Adam though, seeing a doctor and getting a professional opinion would be best. Also I think that if you get a hobby, and focus your attention on that, all of your other fears and thoughts will be pushed to the back of your mind so you won't be able to dwell on them as much. Just find something else to focus your attention on...I also started a journal, so whenever I'm thinking too much I write my thoughts down in it, and it helps to get all my jumbled thoughts into perspective. I also read before I go to sleep until I'm tired enough to fall asleep, so I don't just lay there for hours thinking. I hope I was able to help, PM me if you want =)
