I'm just bored of being bored. My boredom is not a recent phenomena. I am not suicidal or on the edge of going crazy. I will remain a perfectly functioning member of society and my mother's golden boy, my grades will not slip, I will not have any episodes, I will not break any laws. But nothing will interest or excite me or give me purpose. I stand on the edge of the cliff of my mind but I am bolted there. I will not fall off but I am not able to retreat either, I am grounded to look into the abyss forever. I have prevented a suicide, I have never taken drugs, I give to those in need on a daily basis, I am a better Christian than most Christians, I do not cuss, I use my intellect for the benefit of others, I am a model citizen, but my life will remain empty, and is. When I die I will know I was a positive force in this world, more than most, but I will not care.

First of all, welcome on Teenhelp!
It's not easy to feel like there's nothing, really nothing and to feel empty.
You feel like you are a good person; you seem to be a model citizen.
But still, you are bored because nothing ever happens to you. Maybe it seems for you like everyone is dealing with problems or unexpectedness.
I know how it feels to feel like that. Years ago (when I was younger) I felt like that. But because of circumstances, my life turned and was never the same.

Do you have something you like to do? Do you do some sports, music or anything that can distract you? Is there anything you like to do in your free time?
Do you have a specific ideology in life? Do you have specific priorities or is there something you stand for? Maybe you should try to find something like that.
Years ago, when I felt like you do, finally I began to follow actuality. I tried my best to be concerned about the world and I found myself some priorities, some ideologies that I stand for. And I decided to (figuraly) fight for them.
Also, it may help to look after someone you can look up to. Someone who is in a position you would like to reach in life. On that way, you will have a goal in life.
Because if you have no dreams or no goals in life, you won't do anything in life, and that's not good.

Hey there and welcome to TeenHelp

It sounds as though you're functionning well and you're achieving quite a lot of good things which is absolutely fantastic. It seems as though most things are sound in your life but it seems as though this boredom is really affecting you and is a daily issue.

Battling boredom can be very tough - It's a good idea to keep trying new things and trying to keep yourself distracted and busy is a very good idea. Involving yourself in new activities and socialising with people is always a good idea. Setting yourself daily goals (and long term goals) or challenges to work towards may be helpful in keeping you busy too.

Wow so otha people actully are like this aswell. im always like it i even self harm to try help but mi heads really messed up so mine could be for otha reasons ya know. I keep thinkin bout gettin in fight n shit, im not sayin do taht but maby u should try summit exciting to do to get like adrenalin flowin n stuff xxx
