i know this question sounds really stupid. but is it normal? i have this guy in my head and he talks to me. he always insults me and he never has anything nice to say. hes horrible and mean. he likes to make me upset. he wont stop torturing me until i start crying. its very horrible and confusing.
hes been in my head for at least a year now. and im not sure. maybe everyone has someone in their head who talks to them. maybe its normal. occasionally other people pop in there with him and they start talking. but the other people dont stay. they only last a few minuttes and then they leave or dissapear. i dont get it. is this ok? Hey there Dani,
A few people would admit to having a voice that talks in your head - I know that I do! It's often referred to as your 'internal dialogue'. It's a natural thing until you start having issues with hearing insults or feeling degraded. I think that when you do have a problem with thinking negative thoughts and insults, it's time to think about getting help, Dani. Talking to someone about what you're experiencing (such as a counsellor or therapist) could reassure you and help you with the negative impact that this may be having on your day to day life. Take care. |

I don't think it's good that this voice is telling you so many bad things and getting you down. That's really not right, especially if it's been going on this long. I agree with the above post; maybe you could think about talking to a professional or a counsellor, just to hlp you sort things out in your head...it might make thigs start to seem a little more positive.

I think you should seek some therapy. It's best. It's good that you're not considering yourself crazy and you realize that it might not be okay for a guy in your head to talk to you. It's best to catch things early on than to let them escalade. Good luck!
