I don't want to take my meds... - July 18th 2010, 04:51 AM

All they do is make my life worse. I took Ambien last night for my insomnia, and I just kept forgetting that I took one before and took a lot, then I randomly woke up in my parents bedroom, and they informed me that I had been delirious and hallucinating for three hours straight. I don't even remember any of it. That's just one of the incidents that happened because of my drugs. Then later today my shrink gave me even more pills, and I just can't take it anymore

And I don't know what to say here but I need to say something so it's purple and I can finish the rainbow

I haven't cut or self-harmed in any other way since June 15, 2010!

Did you take more that you were supposed to? That's what I understood from your post. Is Ambien the only med you take? if it isn't, the mixture of meds may be what is making this happen. If Ambien is the only one you take, maybe cut the pill in half and take it before you go to bed instead of a whole one. You may be taking more than you need. You may want to talk to your parents about it or your "shrink".

If you forgot that you already took one, multiple times, and it isn't a side effect of the Ambien, I'd suggest having your parents keep the bottle, to help keep track of when you've taken it. Or perhaps a weekly pill container with the days labelled? And if your new meds are taken at night as well, I'd take them all right before you go to sleep. It helps me remember to take it, and remember if I have if I do it right before I get into bed.

What are you taking your pills for? A physical or mental condition? You can choose to come off the meds and start councilling or something if it is for a medical condition. There are better ways to fix the mind/spirit than pumping yourself full of drugs.

however, if it is for a physical ailment then its not always that easy.

Either way, talk to your doctor. Make it clear to them you don't want this any more. They cannot force you to take your pills, but it would be risky to go off them suddenly without talking about it.
