Exclamation A social worker within Tac meetings. - November 12th 2010, 02:38 PM

Feel free to move this if needed.

After a Caf meeting on Monday with myself, My social worker, My young carers worker, My councillor, Three teachers and the school nurse, one of the teachers (Head of sixth form) said she felt it was to intimidating to have these meetings about these (mental health) issues with so many people.

I was chatting with the teacher I am close with today and she told me my social worker had been in contact and sayd the Caf meetings have been taken down to Tac. Even though I was suppose to be talking to school about it which I am pretty anoyed they did it with out me.

But I am wondering, where does this leave my social worker's role? This means my social worker will not be included in the meetings and their will be a different lead of proffesion. Does it mean I will be stopping seeing my social worker now? Or will i still meeting with her fornightly like I do?

Thing is, I was goimg to stop seeing My young carers worker and try build a relationship with my social woker and tell her this on Tuesday when I see her, and now I am not sure where this leaves me and her role? I'm really struggling right now, and for ages,I have been told to talk to her more and now I am really wanting to do it, I feel like Im being put a step back because I dont know if this means she still see's me like she does, and just isn't in the meetings or whether I wont see her as much

Any idea's?
Thankyou.

haiii Jessie

uhh.. I cant say I've ever been in one of those meetings, so I wouldn't know how it worked..

But maybe you should e-mail your social worker? I know that whenever I have issues, I just email mine..
I'm sure she'd be able to clear things up.
Orrr you could contact your young carers worker (:

Or if that fails, ringing CAMHS might be able to help you out.

I hope things get better and that you can see your social worker more often <3

Hey Jessica,

I just wanted to leave a quick note for you.

Remember you are in control of the meetings they are for you. If you feel as though your social worker should attend the meetings you must voice those thoughts. On the other hand if you feel as though someone shouldn't be there and isn't playing a helpful role kindly ask them to not attend the meets anymore.

You're not going to those meets to make a job
out of the situation, you just need to keep your chin and keep moving.

I wish you all the best.

Thanks for replying guys.

I was in a bit of a bad mood earlier and I think I just freaked out a bit. I have emailed my social worker anyway, but I think this is all just me, but thanks for the advice
