I think I have mild trichotillomania - January 30th 2011, 12:29 PM

If you don't know what this is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichotillomania

Basically when I'm anxious or feel nervous I pull my own hair out :/ I haven't got this urge all the time, just when I'm nervous. Luckily I haven't got it to the stage where it's noticeable but at times I pull quite a lot out. It's strangely really comforting to me.

Does anyone else here do this? what do you do to help?

Oh god, I'm like this too. Except mine's with my skin--I rip, tear, pop, and generally annihilate. -__-;; A good strategy that I found was procrastination: like, I'd say to myself 'Well, you can't pop that zit or pull out your hair right now, but you can kick the shit out of it tomorrow.' Then I'd just continue like that. It helps.

aha, that's actually a good idea Sometimes I don't even realise I'm going it until I have a good few strands of hair in my hand though .____.
